Dear Parents and Students,
我们非常高兴地宣布,自2017年9月1日起,全体中芯学生(美语大班-12年级),将拥有自己的统一正装校服。
We are pleased to announce that from September 1, 2017 all Shanghai SMIC Private School students (K2 – Grade 12) will have their own formal school uniform.
据相关研究数据表明:对于学生来说,校服在提升荣誉感、降低着装压力、增加自信和自我认知、增强安全感和归属感等方面具有积极意义。对于家长来说,孩子穿着校服上学,有助于早晨出门前的时间管理以及控制孩子的服装支出成本。对于教师来说,校服使得他们能够在组织学生出游时识别学生,并规范其行为,增强班级凝聚力。而对于学校和社区来说,身着大方得体而又不失时尚校服的中芯学子,本身就是一道亮丽的风景。
Research shows that school uniforms have a positive impact in many aspects. For students, it increases their confidence, self-esteem, sense of security, community identity, while decreasing peer pressure. For parents, it helps with effective time management and clothing cost control. For teachers, school uniforms allow them to easily identify their students during field trips. For the school and community, properly dressed students can elevate school image and brand name.
中芯校服的推出,是学校领导和全体家长的共同努力,是经过长达几个月的反复讨论和商议,参考了许多国际学校校服式样后的慎重决定。同时校服的招标和采购,也是在极其规范的程序下完成的,面料严格按照市政府下发的《关于加强本市中小学生校服管理若干意见》精心挑选,请各位家长放心给孩子穿着。
The launch of SMIC school uniform is a joint effort of school leadership and the PTA, the result of months of discussions and negotiations with 3 vendors while considering the uniform styles of many other international schools. The bidding and final uniform selection process followed the bidding and procurement standards established by government regulations. In addition, the choice of uniform fabric meets the strict standards of Shanghai municipal government as well.
本次推出的校服式样为适合春秋季节的衬衣、马甲和下装(半身裙和长裤),并配有领结和领带。按照学生年龄和心理特征,小学生的设计侧重天真可爱、易于行动;中学生的设计则突出庄重大方。校服的设计以国际主流校服式样为蓝本,能够帮助孩子们树立正确的审美观,学会在不同场合选择不同的服饰, 从而树立起作为国际公民的自信。
The uniform roll out will be done in phases. The first school uniform is a set consisting of a shirt, vest and skirt or trousers, with accessories such as bowtie (elementary) or necktie (middle and high). The uniform is suitable for spring and autumn. The design is compatible with student age. For example, elementary school style brings out playfulness and innocence while allowing the students to wear it while moving easily. The middle/high school uniform emphasizes elegance and decency while preparing the students for college prep, college, and even a professional setting. Both designs are modeled after mainstream school uniforms worldwide and help instill a proper aesthetic sense into students who will be able to choose different clothing for different occasions and enhance their self-confidence as global citizens.
作为第一次订制校服尝试,学校会采用渐进式的推广方法,让学生有一个从接受校服,到喜欢校服,再到强烈要求穿着校服的心理适应和转变过程。从今年9月份起,学校要求学生在开学典礼、升旗仪式等重大活动场合穿着校服,同时每周选定一天作为校服日,其余日期学生可穿着自己的服饰。此后我们会视学生、家长和教师的反馈,逐步推出冬季、夏季系列,以及增加配饰,供学生自由搭配和选择。
Since this is our first attempt at a school uniform, students will have a transitional period to get used to wearing them. Starting with the new school year, students will wear uniforms at the convocation and the flag-raising ceremony each Monday, and on other major school-designated occasions. The school has selected each Monday as the "Uniform Day" when all students need to wear the formal uniform. On other days, students have the option to wear the uniform, or they can wear their own clothes that follow the school dress code. Later, the school will gradually launch the summer/winter uniforms based on feedback from staff, students and parents and add more options of accessories for students to mix and match.
